I started Buzy B’z BuchaBrewz LLC during one of the hardest moments of my life. After being racially profiled as a Food Science student, I made the difficult decision to withdraw from the University of Arkansas to protect my mental health. Back in my childhood bedroom, I found purpose again in a simple living culture—a gifted gallon of kombucha starter I refused to throw away. One small batch at a time, I began brewing, experimenting, and dreaming up a fermentation-driven beverage company rooted in science, Mesoamerican tradition, and care.
Today, Buzy B’z BuchaBrewz focuses on small-batch kombucha and tepache, with plans to revive ancient drinks like yopixtla. This first year is all about learning, fundraising, and showing up for my community through free samples, farmers markets, and flea markets. Every contribution and every sip helps turn a living culture into a thriving, meaningful business.
